Strolls Through New York City
Night time View of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge
New York city feels so calm at night. This one is a long exposure shot of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges from the Brooklyn park in DUMBO. DUMBO offers so many opportunities for day time and night time photography. Taken in "bulb" mode.

It was a heavy snow evening and we were all tucked into our warm wears in my home. Something told me that I might get some interesting shots at the park behind my home. I dressed in layers and convinced my 4-year old to tag along as he could play in the snow. What a wonderful experience it turned out to be. Perfect example that landscape photography inspiration can occur anywhere, any time. It is the frame and the moments that matter.

I was walking around aimlessly around the Brooklyn bridge park one Sunday and fixed myself facing this view hoping for a great sunset. It turned out to be an okay sunset but the twilight moments soon after made for an interesting silhouette style picture of Manhattan.

A misty early morning in NY city. I was going through my archives and found this one. There are several things that caught my attention here. A “yellow” taxi cab, so apt for NY city, it’s location front and center to the US post office and the only vehicle at a usually crowded junction in NY city. Felt “staged” and screaming for a still photograph.
For those wondering about the location, this is right next to the entrance of Brooklyn Bridge and yes, plan to be there before 7.00am if you want shots without the crowd and the traffic. Of course, the top of Brooklyn Bridge without any crowd is quite a treat for photography (more to come on that).
